Windows XP Support

One of the third-party drivers installed as a part of the iLearnInteractive installation process is not Windows XP compatible. When that phase of the installation process fails, the steps performed afterwards in the installation process are not performed.

There are two ways to resolve this situation:

  1. We have an updated CD with an installation script that works. It has updated drivers. We will send that CD to you on request.
  2. You can perform two steps that will cause the existing installed system to work correctly. You can still receive an updated CD for future use.

Two steps to complete the installation

Step one

We have created two new installation programs that will "patch" the system that has been installed. It will register files with Windows, and it will create the desktop icons. You have two choices:

  1. If you are NOT using the License Manager (i.e. you do not have a multi-user network license with the red dongle, download the file InstallXPFix.zip [288 KB], unzip the file, and run the InstallXPFix.exe application. It will ask similar questions to those asked when you performed the original installation - answer them in the same way. Afterwards your system will operate correctly.
  2. If you do have a multi-user network license, AND the computer running the License Manager is running XP (or XP Pro), then download and run InstallXPFixLM.zip [3.6 MB] and follow the steps described in Step 1.

Step two

NOTE: This step is only necessary if you are using a dongle.

The installation of the HASP Driver for Windows XP is very simple. Double-click the HDD32.exe program (download by clicking here [1.9 MB]) and the installation will begin. The instructions are contained in a separate document (contained within the downloaded zip file), however you can select each of the default options.

With these two steps complete, the system will run correctly.
